Using this website

The intended audience for TEL

This website has been primarily designed for disability support professionals (DSPs). DSP is a term used in Australia to refer to individuals paid to work in direct support of people with intellectual disability.  Although designed with a DSP in mind, the information in this website would also be helpful for families, educators and health professionals. Some information could also be accessed by people with intellectual disability, for example videos.

If you are working through a module on your own, we suggest you allow about 20 to 30 minutes. You can find all 12 modules in the Modules tab.

The modules also work well when facilitated by a leader. For example, you might like to run a module as a professional development session during staff meetings.

Each module comes with a facilitator’s guide for managers to assist with running a session. Each guide suggests materials that will supplement the module, highlights the main ideas for discussion, draws links with other modules and indicates aspects of each video to draw out important discussion. You can find a facilitator's guide directly under each module on the Modules tab.

Devices

This website has been tested for use on computers, including laptops running on Windows and Mac.

For the best user experience, we recommend you use a computer. The website is also accessible with tablet devices, for example iPads. We do not recommend phone use. You cannot access the modules on this website using a mobile phone.

Browser versions

We recommend you use Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox. You may experience technical difficulties otherwise.

If in doubt, update your browser to the most recent version.
