This is a continuously changing set of free online educational modules on dementia provided by Dementia Training Australia (DTA) for use by individuals and organisations. Modules cover a wide range of specific dementia care issues such as:

  • Demystifying dementia
  • Understanding changed behaviours
  • Creating supportive environments for people living with dementia
  • Recognising and acting on pain (for direct care workers)
  • Appropriate use of benzodiazepines and other sedatives
  • Dementia training for first responders
  • Caring for LGBTI people with dementia.

Each module provides:

  • Guided reading activities
  • Digital video vignettes
  • Reflective practice activities
  • Additional resources and references

Target audience

Varied including the general public, aged care workers, and health professionals. Modules often have relevance across multiple settings including acute care, aged care, community care, emergency care, primary care, and specialist care.
