Project description

The End of Life Directions for Aged Care (ELDAC) Project seeks to improve the care of older Australians approaching the end of their life with a focus on advance care planning and palliative care. The ELDAC streams of work support the aged care workforce to provide quality care through access to toolkits and technology solutions, and active engagement with a range of stakeholders.

Learning options

ELDAC toolkits - education and learning

The following ELDAC toolkits provide opportunities for aged care staff to improve knowledge, skills, and confidence in providing advance care planning and palliative care:

These include links to online training, personal learning assessment, educator resources, and toolkit educational videos.

Toolkit educational videos

This series of videos supports aged care staff plan and deliver palliative care in residential aged care facilities and in the community. Modules include:

  • Recognise end of life
  • Assess palliative care needs
  • Work together
  • Manage dying
  • After death care and bereavement
  • Organisational support
  • End-of-life law in aged care

There are specific video collections held within the home care, the residential aged care, and the end-of-life law in aged care toolkits.
